Peter Croft: The Best Alpinist in North America
Trained for climbing by traversing beams in his parents’ basement in Nanaimo, BC in the 1970s.

Over the last 50 years Peter’s free climbing ascents have had no equal. His Squamish 1st free accomplishments included the gold standard routes University Wall and the Fortress of Solitude.

Solo climbs like The NE Buttress of Mt. Slesse, the Beckey Chouinard route on Howser Tower in the Bugaboos, and the Evolution traverse in California are a few fine examples of his fast, light, and controlled alpine abilities.

Peter’s solo of Astroman on the Washington Column in Yosemite is legendary, as is his one day link up of The Nose route on El Capitan and The South Face of Half Dome (with John Bachar).

To this day he continues to establish routes that are executed to perfection, and his new High Sierra climbs on The Incredible Hulk are king lines established by a master. Peter lives in Bishop California, and is happy clipping bolts in Owen’s Gorge and soloing huge alpine ridges.

Peter’s climbing presentations are also quite amazing, and inspire you to climb more, climb faster, and climb with integrity.
